(Kind of a stretch)

Shortly after Napoleon's conquer of Spain, many of the colonies just upon the sea decide this would be the perfect time to break away . Many did some didn't. One of those was Florida, located just south of the recently formed United States. With American influence via proximity American settlers and ideas of independence begin to shape the colony. As Latin America revolts against Spain Florida follows suit.

-American civil war: Florida could back either side

-WW1 Spain possibly joins Central powers Florida joins Allies

-WW2 Spain joins the axis in a way to claim it's former glory

-Latin America becomes involved in the war much sooner

-Possible cold war changes.
