I believe a objective future Republicans should be working towards is a Flat Tax. While the idea has been vaguely mentioned and floated around by some politicians, we should truly focus our efforts on this proposal when it comes to answers regarding the economy.
In my specific proposal we should have any individual income over $15,000 taxed at 10%. With this we can eliminate all the annoying and complicated brackets, but also credits and deductions. We replace the latter with the policy where anybody under $15,000 will receive a Negative 10% Income Tax. This means for example if somebody earned $9,000 making him $6,000 short of $15,000, we would give the person 10% of what he is short, in this case $6,000 which would equal $600 , give him or her a bump closer to the desired goal.
I believe this mix would be realistic policy that with the right political seller could be passed. Please let me know what you think.
