Im gonna keep my own opinion for this on hold (for now) because I want to see what everyone else thinks. Although I should add that what we need at least is
1. A system that can get us to our pre 1965 demographics.
2. Still need a steady supply of immigrants until our populations birth rate is fixed
3. cant Just be from 4 country’s
4. Can’t ban it
I want to see what people come up with
Just tossing this out as a loose idea, but exclusive immigration from Anglo-sphere countries could be a good start, issue with that is that it's precisely 4 countries, and might just make us more like Britain.
National Origins WAS a fair option, but by this point that'll only maintain what we currently have. Exclusivity to first-world nations might be a wider option that meets this criteria.
Z no offense but I disagree allow South Americans as long as their legal and speak English cuz legal Mexicans are hard-working and assimilate much better than illegals
What makes you think that pre-1965 demographics is necessary?
Not that it’s necessary but thats what our demographics were before the massive changes so I believe we could go back to that and then just maintain it. After that if the country’s demographics change organically than so be it.
@Lukdnuke Nah too late for that, I think maintaining demographics as they are would be difficult enough. I could argue that the demographics after those 1965 changes were more natural than you would think as the new immigration laws didn't favour Europeans as they did before, and thus the White American population was no longer bolstered. Regardless, the positives may still outweigh the negatives, there are many skilled immigrants that were allowed to enter the country as a result of the change in immigration policy. To me, demographics don't really matter, as long as skilled workers are entering the country and assimilate enough to work effectively.
I'll address your other points too:
2. As America becomes more developed and wealthier, birth rates will inevitably decline. So I guess immigrants are gonna be coming in forever, unless some fascist/communist-esque policy is implemented which just isn't an option.
3&4. I don't see excluding any country from immigration for no valid reason as an option. So we're gonna have to think beyond just straight up banning immigration from certain countries. Rather the US should work to further incentivise skilled workers from first world countries, and disincentivise illegal immigrants and less skilled workers. This could be done through new visa schemes, and a harder stance on illegal immigration as well as a narrower focus on skilled labour.
@Firethelazer actually it’s would actually be possible to maintain the current demographic but that’s not the point. The first point being that in the immigration laws that I believe we need favor Europeans is because Europeans assimilate faster than anyone else because of genetic, cultural, and ethnic reasons. Your write that eventually the birthdate will decline but it doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed and the country’s population doesn’t need(or should) be flooded. From just supporting it in our culture or just giving incentives we can grow the population, other nations are already doing that. Next im not saying we ban country based on race, I’m saying we ban them based on danger, large cultural differences, and compatibility with American culture. Finally i agree with most of the last part of your argument on the idea that in the end we need standards no matter who comes.
(This also isnt my complete opinion on immigration, just a conversation)
Only bring in people with cultures like us Britain,Australia, and other Anglo countries
Only whites, nobody else. Deport illegals.
What in compatible white cultures like Italians slavs French Spaniards
Reduce legal immigration to 400,000 per year out of which 275,000 are reserved for European immigrants.
