If a civil war breaks out we other than the regional differences i think we need to find a why to fix the aftermath. Judging that most military personal identifies more with the right and moderate liberals aren’t going to side with communists and might sit this one out or maybe join the right as to mainly just unite the country faster, libertarians, traditionalists, conservatives, nationalists, and even those conservative-lite people have the majority of the guns in the end where most likely gonna win but what about the after math.
there was a post recently on this site from a guy named “blow” and he had a pretty good map but I was wondering how would states be organized after the war when it comes to some gaining territory and other losing it. What would we do to reestablish the union but this time make sure it never happens again.
To me is an expulsion of all those who wasn’t originally in the country and in some way supported the left. Than an education system (not to conservative or it’ll start problems half a century or so down the line) that can be effective on morality, getting people work as a way of showing moderates that it works, and cultural unity. All those (but many are moderate and would resent the nation if we did this to them so only the leftists, socialists, commies, and the like) who voted for this system have voting power stripped.
what else would we do in the aftermath
I always assume worst case scenario, if a civil war does break out in the US, it would be due to demographic change and diverging racial and ethnic interests. Don't know if you are interested, by I actually made a post a couple of days ago regarding how the country could be reformed in semi autonomous regions so each of the racial interests and needs are met.
If a civil war did break out, the Right which without a doubt would end up being the winning side would probably have to suspend full franchise democracy at the very least temporarily until the country could stabilize. Probably another constitutional convention. My best bet is that the state with most leftist extremists California, would probably be broken up in 2 or 3 different states, as to ensure a favorable balance of power in the new America.
The interesting scenario would be after the war, once a riff happens between the Libertarians and the more authoritarian conservatives. Both would be trying to implement their own version of what America should be.
I think that authoritarians and libertarians can find some consciences. would do you think would be a good compromise on how they would pass laws and or what would be the ideal.
Like the founders where there were the federalists and the anti federalists. Except this time they would know more sense it’s been tested. The real goal would be what to do long term.
@Lukdnuke If Libertarians and Authoritarians are to make a compromise, they would have to set very clearly the context of liberty, and to what point that expands. Things like marriage, immigration, and drugs would probably best serve as examples. A "charter of American moral code" would have to be drafted where people know what both their liberties and duties are.
I could actually see the libertarians agreeing to a less democratic government if certain guarantees like property rights and gun rights between many others would be agreed on.
My point exactly. What Im wondering is what political model would be taught. I can see classical liberalism being one of them but what ideology would being generally supported that will keep the winners satisfied.
Can you name some ideology’s like this.
@Lukdnuke Perhaps a form of Libertarian-Technocracy mix. Post war America will probably be in shambles and we will need capable people to help rebuild it. I could see many Nationalists supporting this form of meritocracy. The way I could best envision it is a new senate not representing geographical constituencies but rather a specific specialized field (example: one senator who distinguished himself in military matters, another senator distinguished in technological progress, another senator specialized in economics, etc). They would choose the leader they believe is the most capable of guiding the nation.
Another question is what the balance between state and federal power would be in this new post civil war America.
Once the demographics are most likely fixed to in extent and steps have then been taken to keep it that way the choices will be made. We would bring up and in a way romanize the old articles but we would still keep some form of federal republic if not a type of confederacy with but less autonomy. Although most would most likely keep it a constitutional republic. However the fact is a republic and not a democracy will be hammered into the next generation and the generation after that, including the fact that we would have private organizations constantly keeping watching to make sure it doesn’t happen again, along with even more restrictions and other ways of balancing power enough that we don’t need to do it again.
The states I’m the end would be given more autonomy but would need to follow the nations revitalized constitution and a form of council will be there to make sure that the states are following it. I just hope that we in our desperation to make a lasting peace and constant stability we don’t stunt our progress and eventually aren’t able to catch up to other country‘s like the Spartans eventual decay or The Roman Republics decent time more violent politics eventually leading way to an autocrat that turns the nation into a dictatorship
@Lukdnuke A question if I may, what is your view federal public programs like Social Security and Medicare, and how do you think they would be reformed with this more decentralized system?
I think there would probably Be a United right wing front in the United left wing front going at it the Right would win and the left would go underground but both sides would eventually fracture among ideological differences And this would inevitably lead to more violence
For the right, I don‘t think they will end up fighting as seriously since as different as they are in the US there will definitely be things that they compromise on that‘ll guarantee certain things that involve the old republic. The left to me would probably either become more terroristic or just lay down.
I realized something. what about our foreign relationship. what’s gonna happen to territories, alliances, other powers, troops, and treaties. Will we attempt to have the same alliances, would we cut ties, would we isolate ourselves to the Western Hemisphere, would we have specific allies based only on what they can give or would we have allies with similar cultures. Would we go back and try to reclaim superpower status or allow something else to have it. Would we go to war or make union with different nation or would we attempt to slow down other powers like China or Russia. What about Canada and Mexico. Mexico would probably collapse or go to its own civil war and Canada, well would it be invaded by something else, join us, or just another country that maybe borrowed Alaska. Would Europe do what we did and kick out there population that can’t/refuse to integrate or would europe fall.(probably kick out its population because of the US but after that what happens to them depending on who takes order). What happens with the US gonna for a few years or a decade or so?
Remember we have to make compromises with different groups to revive the republic so what might different groups want to do, and again many members have now been radicalized. there’s also the moderates in the country so you need to remember that they still exist.
